Our School

The FEDEA Curriculum
FEDEA School offers standard academic programs (kindergarten, primary, secondary and post-secondary) for students who have a normal school level (including GCSE and A Level exam preparation), adapted academic programs for students with more limited academic aptitude and autism-specific educational programs for students with heavier developmental difficulties. The FEDEA curriculum is unique by the diversity of the subjects taught and the variety of activities offered to each student. The teaching and regular practice of 20 different indoor and outdoor sports is included. Teaching is in English, French or, upon request, in other languages. |

The Structure

FEDEA School covers a surface of more than 1'000 m2. The entire school premises are accessible by wheelchair. The school has 35 places, with students divided into small classes corresponding to their different ages and developmental levels. |

Our Programs
Each FEDEA student benefits from a complete, structured, objectives-based personal educational program which combines traditional study subjects with the intensive daily teaching of communication, autonomy and social skills. Parents can indicate priority areas and the program typically integrates skill acquisition and behaviour management aspects which are important in a home context. Parents receive oral and written feedback on a daily basis. There are also quarterly parent/teaching staff review meetings and regular detailed written evaluation reports which quantify the student's progress in formal, objective terms. |

The FEDEA Approach
FEDEA School follows a full cognitive behavioural teaching and educational approach. Our approach obtains uniquely convincing results across all age levels. The FEDEA approach has been developed in Morges, Switzerland, over a 20 year period by FEDEA's founder, Catherine Bolton-Fazan, and her team. The FEDEA curriculum and approach are recognized internationally. Structured teaching (TEACCH), Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) and Augmentative Communication Methods (PECS for example) are integrated in the FEDEA teaching approach. These intervention approaches are used to complement each other as most appropriate for each student. |
